@ambergrey Have to belatedly plug the Xotic SP compressor ("guitar pedal" category). I had some form of Dyna Comp in my rig since 1983, but switched to the SP about 10 years ago. It sounds very much like a Dyna Comp but has the ability to blend the compressed/uncompressed sounds and that has been a game changer for me. Doesn't hurt that a couple of favorites (early Who, early REM) used parallel compression for the guitar as part of the recording process, so I was already primed for that sound.
