Governor Greg Abbott just vetoed a bill that would allow disabled Texans to vote by mail

Same as Clarence Thomas looking to repeal interracial marriage, Lindsey Graham attacking same-sex marriage, and Dubya attacking education. Hate and self owns.
@flexghost Eight states plus Washington, DC, have "all mail voting" (vote by mail, vote at home). It's pretty hard to keep up the facade that there's a problem with allowing everyone to vote by mail, not just disabled folks.
And by the way, vote by mail is not accessible to all disabled folks. Voters with certain disabilities need other accessible methods. One size does not fit all.
@flexghost Can this be challenged under the Americans with Disabilities Act? Once upon a time Republicans supported the act. Then when they realized it might cost their corporate donors money, and allow voters that don't automatically support them go to the polls, they reversed course. Disgusting.

@flexghost Bush attacking education doesn’t seem the same as the others. He wasn’t highly educated, in the way the the others were acting against some identifiable group to which they belonged.

Abbot's rich & can afford someone driving him around in a wheelchair-friendly vehicle; the Thomases got their license & don't give a shit about anyone else's; Dubya got an Ivy League degree so whether he's smart doesn't really matter; & can you really imagine anybody wanting to marry Lindsey?
I guess my point is they've either got (or know they'll never have) theirs, so they don't give a shit about anyone else.
@flexghost these people are disgusting, but I don't think for this reason. I wouldn't expect people to uphold things that are wrong because they themselves profited from them, so I do not see any good reason to expect them to do so for things that are right. I'd expect them to uphold things that are right because they are right.
