Especially when you realise that the so-called copper wire they will replace it with is brittle adulterated shit and no where near as good as the old stuff!
Remember that pure copper in the old wiring is yours - an offer to ‘dispose of it for you’ is cheeky!
@kel I'm 1,200 miles away now so there's not much I can do there but... yeah... for the rest. When we moved in we looked into having this work done but even the electricians said not to as it really wasn't worth it.
The utterly batshit irony being that the new wire is probably more likely to cause fires - its really not funny; but the ‘economy’ wins every step of the way!
@kel yep. That’s what they told me when we quoted it (we had a difficult time with insurance then but managed to find one so the electrician was honest enough to say don’t do it)
Id want to know the names of those who passed the legislation and have them struck off and the legislation revoked - are these people taking backhanders? They are a menace!
