Them: we're excited to offer the project a grant of $2,000 in USDC.

(USDC? Quick Google. What's that?)

Me:Sorry, I'm not interested in any crypto currencies. If you can't pay real money then I'm not interested.

why? because crypto is generally insane. If they want to fund us, we gladly accept funding. Why insist on doing it via weird funny business? I think it rather smells of trickery and I will not go near it.

@bagder big respect, Daniel. Keep up the good work!

@bagder Maybe they’ve got a little extra in the heroin and ransomware budget this month?

@bagder they want you to use it and talk about it?

Took a quick look. In theory you can exchange it without fees at coinbase, but it essentially is tokens that claims to be dollars so the people sending it would have to collect tax info from you.

It is funny. How are they suppose to make money with no fees? Seems they skim part of the interest the dollars from the treasuries they hold?

@bagder it's real money though... you just login and cash it out... USDC is audited and everything; this is no different than if you got the $2,000 via PayPal or CashApp
