@andycarolan One thing you'll want to do is watch for the friction level for payments. It's annoying to want to donate or purchase only to find it's complicated by some issue or another.

@andycarolan OK. The only thing I've heard of that isn't mentioned in this thread is odoo, but that's pretty much the opposite of "just a storefront". It's an ERP/MRP system that can be used to do ecommerce too if you want it to. I don't recall it being particularly cheap either.
@andycarolan shopify has the most functionality out of all e-commerce platforms but it's a white nationalist company sooooo i would consider getting a wordpress and using maybe the woocommerce app?
@dexiheart I must confess that Shopify is low on my list anyway partly because they leaked a lot of my data some years back, and I'm still getting spam because of them.

@andycarolan to quickly go and avoid platform fees, you can set up a product with Stripe and embed that on your site. I assume their fees are less than something like Gumroad and BigCartel. I did it once before for a zine I mailed—probably should’ve done that for my stickers instead than KoFi…
@humdrum That's interesting. I didn't know I could do that with Stripe.
In fairness though, I want to keep this separate to my own site and work. For no other reason that it's experimental and its ‘own thing', so something like Big Cartel could work for what I have in mind.
