@Alice I grew up in Connecticut near New Haven which anyone who knows anything about pizza knows it is the absolute pinnacle of. You cannot get better pizza anywhere. The brick ovens are over 100 years old and the people who wield the six foot long peels are artisans. Do not come for me unless you’ve had a white pie at modern or a pepperoni mushroom at Pepe’s with a cold Foxon Park birch beer.
I found it to be worst when I lived in Chicago because they're so hell bent on Chicago style pizza which is, let's be honest, just a big savory cake.
You try to ask people where to get the best NY style pizza and NOBODY understands. They're just like "oh thin crust?" NO! I do not want your stupid crunchy pizza. Especially when it's cut "party style" into stupid little squares. None of that is NY style!
@Waitnwallflower My favorite pizza insult is the one where someone said Chicago style pizza is like an above ground pool or the above ground pool of pizzas.
@AppleFanboy@Waitnwallflower Can someone transcribe this (and also summarize it to the bare minimum)? It takes a LOT for me to be willing to click on a link to anything with audio.
@glasspusher
I'm not even in pennsyltucky...I'm way over in Ohioduhtucky, and got diagnosed Celiac while here, not that I'm saying it's related, but I am saying that when I lived in Jersey, I ate damn good pizza. @RVLara23@Alice
@Waitnwallflower@RVLara23@Alice oh man. There’s one good Jersey pizza place out here, 45 min from me. I go once in a while. Owners are from hopewell and Brooklyn
@glasspusher@Waitnwallflower@RVLara23 Good tip! We sometimes go to Sunnyvale for long weekends so I'll check it out for a pizza Friday when we happen to be in town. Thank you!
