@daringfireball @gruber is this headline an intentional misapplication of the analogy form? It should be horse is to carriage as content is to ads, unless I’m missing something. Each pair (x:y::a:b) should share the same relationship internally, but do not relate across the :: symbol. This reads “horse is to content as carriages is to ads,” which at least to me makes zero sense. Unless I’m a dummy and you’re operating on a higher creative level.

@Petergosik Your formulation is probably more clear but I think the analog works both ways. In mine:

thing that goes first : other thing that goes first :: thing that goes second : other thing that goes second

@daringfireball Another fav Walt quote is on how he secured funding for Snow White.
