The emergency slide has requested and been granted whistleblower status.

@mekkaokereke "An emergency slide that fell off of a Delta passenger jet shortly after take-off last week reportedly turned up two days later outside the home of a lawyer whose firm is coincidently suing the Boeing plane manufacturer over safety issues."

Can't make this up.

@mekkaokereke On first pass (of the title) I couldn't tell if they were suing Boeing due to the emergency slide causing damage, or if they were already suing Boeing.

For the passers-by: the emergency slide, of all the places it could've gone, went to the place already suing Boeing for the door coming off in-flight.

@mekkaokereke spent a bit trying to figure out if it was on a MAX plane too. no, a 767-300: https://www.npr.org/2024/04/26/1247454971/delta-airlines-boeing-plane-emergency-jfk

@mnemonica @mekkaokereke This whole story is wild. Turns out the same route (unclear if same plane) had a technical issue, again from a slide. In that event, the slide deployed inside the cabin during landing, causing someone to go to the hospital.
