@geerlingguy how would you feel about running a performance and perf/price comparison between the Geekworm X1011, the CM3588, and something like the i3-N305 CWWK fanless boxes with one of their 4× NVMe breakout widgets¹ that Patrick over at STH reviewed last year²? They're bring-your-own-RAM but also mighty keen...
(I know you have one of those neato little Minisforum machines, but I don't know of a 1→4 NVMe breakout board for those.)
@geerlingguy very nice, Jeff. Interesting there is no backflow circuitry on the NVMe card, but I guess that's fine for what it is.
Side question when you have time: how do you like the InfiRay P2 thermal imager? Or do you have the P2 Pro? It seems you are using it with an iPhone in the images on your post, is it the USBC or Lightning version? I have been considering the Flir thermal imager for a while but I haven't wanted to bite the bullet up to this point.
@DigitalKrampus I think it's the P2 Pro, it's great, the software's not amazing but good enough, and the camera hardware makes up for it. Love 25Hz refresh rate and the macro lens.
But yes and no; the bigger limitation is built in 1 Gbps networking, but you can get USB 3.0 2.5G adapters, but then you're right at the same cost as CM3588, which is faster still.
