@pezmico its amazing how obvious it is when you’re not part of it all, and I wonder what it’s going g to take for other folks who are choosing to allow the virus a free ride, to stop being irresponsible ?
@jeremy_pm@dave i mean yes... but also vaccines are increasingly ineffective to mutated strains. Kids under 5 are not allowed any. And the ones approved here in NZ are for XBB, a strain not detected in a few months now. We don't have access to a more effective updated novavax and keep acting ignorant when it comes to clean air and masks.

Yup. I’ve come across far too many folk whose only acknowledgement of Covid risk is to vaccinate.
It’ll keep you out of hospital, hopefully, but it won’t stop you getting sick or passing it on. It won’t stop you rolling the dice on long COVID, or increasing those odds for someone who can’t vax etc.
Vaccination is table stakes self-preservation. Masking, air purification etc, is looking after others + helping reduce your own risk of disability

The workmate who is currnetly infected and off is on his third covid ride. His partner is a cancer survivor.
One would think that would warrant some precaution, but he "won't live in fear".
