Well, not entirely. You can't just own a gun and make the rules. You have to be more organized and have more better guns.
Let it be said, it's better to be on the side of the people with the more better guns and the organization to back it. There are ways. I encourage people to run for City Council.

We need the good people to say enough is enough, and get involved in all levels of government.
@maddad@janisf Guns are almost always the way. Sure, Gahdi managed to drive out 1K of Brits by getting them so tired of beating the crap out of Indians that they went home... But that is an aberration in history. Most revolutions happen when someone picks up arms and starts slashing.
The gun solution won't work in America, a huge percentage of the population has one or more of them and in the last couple of hundred years all that has happened is a lot of innocent people have been killed.
Guns haven't worked so far and I don't think they ever will.
We are in a perpetual war, we need an intelligent solution, not a brute force solution or we are doomed to keep repeating history over and over again.
@B_Whitewind@maddad@Jon_Kramer It didn't do anything to mitigate violence, though. The fight I'm fighting is bigger than just letting men keep shooting men and leaving kids in the crossfire.

@Jon_Kramer@maddad I just had a conversation with a guy who had a deep understanding of what happened with India, and it sounds like Ghandi had "help."
That's not to say there aren't cleverer ways to push progress. For starters, nearly nobody's sleeping with cops, and I'm party convinced it's part of why they're so touchy.
@janisf@maddad It's been a few decades since I read "Freedom at Midnight" or saw that kingsley movie about Gandhi, but ya, he had lots of help... and that help was guys with guns. :)
@Jon_Kramer@maddad We can keep spiraling, or we can improve the systems people put in place to join the fight against violence, en masse. There really isn't a middle ground.
I'm committed to non-violence, and thinking of smarter ways to leave a better, safer world for my kid, and all the other kids.
