@maddad @janisf Guns are almost always the way. Sure, Gahdi managed to drive out 1K of Brits by getting them so tired of beating the crap out of Indians that they went home... But that is an aberration in history. Most revolutions happen when someone picks up arms and starts slashing.

Have you ever terminated a longtime friendship because the person defended or tried to justify a convicted multiple rapist, because the convicted rapist was part of their immediate family?

I had to do that, last month, with someone I've known almost my whole life in Canada. I felt it was the right decision for me to cut ties because I'm a rape survivor & can't stay friends with anyone who tries to defend rapists & tries to blame victims.

It was both traumatic to discover & to terminate.

I have ghosted people who made excuses for abusers. I don't know anyone with the balls to try and justify a rapist to my face.

@msquebanh When I started thinking about this 30 mins ago, I realized that most of the people who tried to justify abuse to me were also women. I wonder if they were looking for sympathy from me, or trying to game my emotions.

I don't know what the cause is/was. I mean, I have no idea, and any guesses I might have would be based on pure speculation. But I don't find it shocking... I just feel cold about them. I am trying to remember males who did this, or similar. I'm drawing a blank.

@flexghost I just remembered, there is one story I have held onto since 2016. An un-named intelligence community officer was quoted as saying "He will die in prison." This was Nov or Dec or 2016, right before he was sworn in.

Of all the sensationalist headlines I have seen, that one I hold on with hope.

Better than trump is not a selling point. And if that is your pitch, keep walking.

I am not sure how to make this more clear. Saying "better than trump" makes biden look BAD.

@joeinwynnewood the RESPONSE to Dobbs is 100% on the Dems. This is not in doubt.

They refused to address the issue, instead saved it for a campaign issue. They had the house, senate, and the oval office. And they were silent. This, in my opinion, is unforgivable.
