And look, folks, I’m not going to pretend that some of things I like or some of the ways I am aren’t because of gender socializing under Patriarchy. I’m quite sure that plays a part. But I’m sure as FUCK not going to let Patriarchy also shame me for who I am and what I desire.

@renegadejade I think TERFs and related folks who just see this as playing into stereotypes are, in part, not parsing the difference between their own trauma of having that thing forced on them and trans women getting to choose to do something.

Like, wearing a dress is liberation for me because I was forced to not wear a dress and to fear the idea of wearing a dress through violence.

On top of that, it's often just misogyny too - thinking "feminine" things are bad and inferior and to want them must be perverse since they're supposed to be lesser. Just projecting their own self-hatred on others
