Going to wear a swim suit and go swimming for the first time since I came out on Wednesday. I’m nervous and excited to wear a women’s bathing suit. High waisted rockabilly vibes.

Family friends have a heated pool and they are gay. It will just be the three of us, otherwise private. My biggest concern will be visible self-harm scars, but I need to not worry about what other people think of me.

Following this up with more tips for white folks, since words without action are useless.

  • Change your behavior as you unlearn Whiteness. Internalize that shit.

  • Don’t get defensive when called out for racism. Use it as a learning opportunity to change your words and behavior to be more in line with your stated antiracist values.

  • If a PoC comes at you heated, empathize with their anger and look past to the pain being expressed of living under White Supremacy
