This is not meant to open up attacks on Joe Biden. He and his administration must do better. But tragedies like this can be better avoided if we don’t let Republicans into office who destroy our programs. Once they’re gone, they’re hard to rebuild. Think about it.

This note isn't entirely related to this poor young man's experience. It's more about the whole end of our Afghanistan operation.
Trump had Pompeo surrender to the Taliban, but didn't do any of the preparation for our soldiers to withdraw with dignity nor set up any system to help our Afghan allies that risked their lives helping us. It's so shameful that our press has given him a free ride on this issue and use it solely as a way to attack Joe Biden in their attempt to be "fair".
Again, if we let incompetent and intentionally destructive forces run our country like a Trump administration that hired either incompetent people into important positions or put people in charge whose intentions are to destroy the agency they work for, these things will be the consequences.
Democrats have also tried time and time again to get Republicans to agree to an immigration bill that would more fully fund immigration services.
@TonyStark Heartbreaking. A cascade of failures. Over the years I have worked with refugees from Russia and Southeast Asia. They were all resettled in cities. Being a refugee is unimaginably
difficult even with strong community support. Without support there are tragedies like this one.

@TonyStark What a terrible tragedy. I’m so sorry this kid was failed. When someone like Trump gets in and tears everything apart, the chaos hurts so many real people. I hope this article gets people to wake up and pay attention to really caring for the refugees our policies make.
