Well this is awkward, I think she blocked me as I see a "cancel follow request" after following her but the account isn't private.

Oh well, still wish artemis all the best and think you should check it out!

Don't worry, it's not a block, tech.lgbt has a general silencing of mastodon.social.

Any follow that comes from mastodon.social to tech.lgbt gets turned into a follow request.

Not as far as I know. You can still follow and interact with mastodon.social, it's just the follows automatically turn into follow requests.

@dansup I don’t know if she still does, but her account was set to approve follows (not private) when I heard about Artemis maybe a week ago. It’s likely she’s gotten a lot of requests lately. It may not be personal.

@hariette @dansup When servers are busy (for instance, due to an influx of users from somewhere), this kind of thing happens!

I bumped into a similar issue in November during a previous migration

I'm assuming the server is just too busy and put some stuff into the queue for later processing

I tried following her quite a while ago.
And I got the same thing.

My guess is that it isn't just you.

Her account might be set up to approve follows — but she might not be reviewing her follow-requests.

Looking forward to what you’ll come up with. I love Apollo but I have 3 lemmy apps that all look like Apollo…. I think people are trying too hard to be an Apollo replacement when really they should try to be more original. I do need a kbin app though
