@Stefan_S_from_H Might I suggest a static site generator like Publii? Paired with an embedded comment system like Disqus? Doesn't have "web" editing, but a user experience that is pretty close to it. Static HTML generation is pretty damn secure. Plus your content will load super fast.

@wagesj45 Publii has no test-server and as a consequence uses only links to .html.

External sites for forms are a big problem because of our local privacy laws. I wouldn't risk it.

@Stefan_S_from_H The test server is your local machine. It outputs everything a folder and all links are relative.

If externally hosted comments are an issue, you could still use statically generated HTML pages along with the selfhosted disqus alternative like this: https://isso-comments.de/

This would give you control over the comment system, while also not using an entire CMS system.

@wagesj45 Publii links to "page.html" instead of "page/". This is a limitation due to not using a server.

I evaluated Publii enough to report bugs: https://github.com/GetPublii/Publii/issues/1009

I wasn't looking for any comment system. Just simple contact forms. Even commercial CMS like Kirby don't have any forms unless you buy one from a sketchy website.
