Swift'd be fun, but I'd be throwing away Windows & probs Linux builds, & while it can be pretty the 3rd party libraries aren't great. Plus selling my soul to Apple.
I could do with the Rust practice, but there's always the chance I'd lose my mind. One more bad dice roll & it's off to the attic to draw paintings of impossible angles & that one abandoned church steeple in the distance where the howling buzz comes from...
@mogoh theoretically yes, in practice, in my experience any way, not really.
On Linux it can be done if there are no Appleland specific dependencies, Foundation etc, that's not usually the case, & isn't here I don't think. On Windows last I looked you couldn't have any dependencies at all. I'll see how they both go, I have an open mind. :0110:
@mike_k Interesting. TBH I am neither a Swift programmer nor a macOS user. But @Migueldeicaza convinced me that it is a good Language for Godot and the thing that is holding me back for now is how good it works cross platform. So I am always interested in experience reports. 🤔
@mogoh@mike_k windows support is getting so good that it now even sports a glorious WinRT bridge if you really need access to native APIs, beyond the comfy home of Godot APIs
