Pro tip. If you use a mobile device, the official mastodon app is trash. Use toot! Ice cubes, ivory (for iOS) fedilabs or tusky (for android).

Also, here’s a few flowcharts to help you understand how things move around. Favorite is a way to give a poster warm fuzzies but doesn’t move things around. Boosting pushes it to your followers. And follow anyone interesting at all and your home feed will be great but don’t ignore the local and federated timelines to find fresh stuff.
