@ellane@TfTHacker@obsidianmd Commander also lets you assign icons to any commands in your palette (whether core or added by plugins) that lack them so you can run them from the toolbar.
@ednico :ablobwave: I'm so late and so excited to see this! I'm very happy to be able to watch these apps develop so rapidly. In the meantime I'm heading to https://tana.pub/
Did you know that there are now 70 tools for Personal Knowledge Management? The full list will be in the next article of the PKM series, which is about the PKM tools landscape. It will be out tomorrow. Until then, read the first one about the PKM tools explosion in 2020-2022.
@ednico It's quite fascinating that the Obsidian team didn't prioritize their own revenue generating service such as Publish, which has been on the list for quite some time. Recently there's only the 2FA feature. They instead chose to churn out features that people can just use for free. Just amazing.
In my opinion it will still suffer of a major architectural issue: one file (page) for each record is a overkill both from a UX point of view (potentially having to manage tons of pages) and for performance (having to parse and sync tons of files).
FYI there are plugins that makes a lot of sense on mobile: for example the Smartblock plugin let you trigger a specific template with a button instead of typing /template and then the name of the template.
Why does the Cornell Method deserve a spot in our study toolbox?
It is an effective tool to facilitate active learning, this system promotes critical thinking, efficient summarization, and effective review by helping us identify crucial points, connect ideas, and engage actively with the material. #TfT
@EpiphanicSynchronicity@anders@pluralistic I agree with you. And also why I was put off using plugins on Obsidian and Logseq - they add complexity and move you away from simple reusable notes for the future.
It's funny to think that all the manuscripts saved are in simple format - not sure if in 100 years people will say "oh check out this beauty of a hard drive".
Still think that #tana is really solid, but they need to improve their export
@ednico@EpiphanicSynchronicity@nhan First: Really appreciate the pushback here! This is both important – and even a bit fun – to think about, and discuss!
