I don't watch TikTok, but your write-up missed a few things. Like the restaurant owner was trying to hide a DUI conviction that might've prevented her from getting a very lucrative alcohol license. And the part where restaurant owner has been driving without a license. And the local cops know about it but refuse to do anything about it. Possibly because the DA's brother owns the hotel the restaurant is in, and the DA's brother can raise the rent once the alcohol license is approved. And the fact that the newspaper was investigating a dozen seperate allegations that the new police chief resigned his old job just ahead of multiple allegations of sexual assault. And that the names of the people who leaked the information to the newspaper are in one of the computers the police chief stole.
The kid asked "Do you think that Trump violated the peaceful transfer of power? " ,and DeSantis dodged the question. Saying that people shouldn’t be hung up on the past. Then asked if the kid was in high-school. It goes on to say that he was harassed, tailed, took his picture to put on Snap Chat and even grabbed by security at other events.
It’s such an easy question to give a politically expedient answer to.
I’m not convinced he did, but he’s going to have to spend a lot of time dealing with the allegations. Republicans want to make America great again, and they deserve a presidential candidate that can fight for them, not one tied down by frivolous LIEberal lawsuits. Not to mention the risk of democrats rigging the election by blocking his name from the ballot. I believe Trump was the best president this country has ever had and once elected I will pardon him for any service to this country DEMONcrats call a crime. I’ll support him when he runs in 2028.
Say no, but leave room for reversal
Emphasize that Trump won’t be a good candidate
Blame liberals/democrats
Pledge allegiance to MAGA
He also hasn’t actually promised a pardon. If anyone says why haven’t you pardoned him: “You call that a service to the country”?
The first sentence was what popped into my head when I read the question. The rest was a bit more work as I considered what his strategy should be. But they are talking points he is probably more familiar with.
Just to clarify he/she was alluding to using a photo of his face to enable some sort of Internet justice against the person who hurt you. Not a good thing, but they were trying to help you in their own way
I agree. The details of whatever exact case doesn't change my mind though. Innocent people have been executed in the past and it's not something we should be quick to repeat.
No. The death penalty is never the correct punishment. If restorative justice isn't possible, then life in prison is the worst punishment you should have.
In extreme cases like this, you want to keep these people alive in order to investigate earlier crimes. I doubt this is the first time these cops did this kind of shit.
While I agree with everything you say, my ancestors’ generational trauma can still be seen today, and nothing has changed. We are supposed to take the moral high ground, but time and time again, nothing changes. The one thing I cannot agree with is the concept that some of these people have redeemable qualities. That being said, they were dubbed the Goon Squad, which means they are one of these off-the-rails “tactical” task forces that can and do anything to get the results they want. This mirrors the Scorpion Squad that beat that man to death, where they took pictures of his bloodied, unrecognizable body to their friends. I hate to say it, but cases like this are not new or uncommon. The only difference is that we have ways to expose the atrocities of our so-called civil servants, since we control the flow of information outside of the mainstream media to an extent. I have so many conflicting thoughts on how to best deal with monsters like these but I guess I can’t disagree with your thoughts.
I don’t mean this as support, but the entire food and restaurant industry works based on migrant and undocumented workers. Hopefully more people realize this, because I can’t imagine most of it is legal outside of missing documentation, and if that’s why we have cheap food… honestly we need to see the real price of food especially when everyone is paid fairly, not turn a blind eye to migrant and undocumented workers.
Maybe more people will wake up to this.
Though also it’s possible that the stores are just bare because they missed a delivery or something else. I’ve seen stores like that the day before a delivery because there was a rush on X or Y… One day I just wanted a bell pepper and my persian market that has some of the best and most consistent produce ever was just out of them. IT happens.
Also technically that’s a Walmart… Maybe people count it as a grocery store, but there’s a lot more at play in a walmart (And not somewhere I’d go for produce in the first place)
It’s been so frustrating watching most of the discourse on this just be “Look! He scared away all the workers they were exploiting! Their economy is screwed.” instead of discussing why those exploited workers are so crucial to the FL economy and that of the whole country.
The marginalization of immigrants has gone on for far too long. They come here and are systematically exploited. Their hard work and contributions are ignored and taken for granted, and that is wrong.
“If you look at the issues of East Palestine, the issues of Boeing, and now this maritime disaster — our transportation system is under attack and it’s corporate greed every step of the way that led to these issues." [Ronald Rexha]
This is what happens when you try to stop paying people to do things right. Rushed and flawed maintenance jobs, skeleton crews on marine vessels, locomotives and aircraft, vastly increasing the size of each vessel to increase the responsibility of each crew. Tragedies like these are the price we all pay for companies’ cost-cutting.
A very wishy washy testimonial from the experts that doesn't support the thesis. Union safety supposedly saving those guys? No way. Tugs maybe, but he specifically didn't want to say this port policy was wrong for not using tugs out the whole river. Regaining rudder control after loss of power if the ship wasn't automated? No way.
on the one hand, Republicans gut federal agencies.. but on the other they want to know why infrastructure is falling apart, and why corporations are running shoddy equipment that puts everyone in danger.. trains crashing because of lack of regulation.. planes falling apart because of lack of regulation.. ships crashing into bridges because of lack of regulation and oversight.. it's pretty simple, you fucking chimps..
Every regular person needs to learn about negative externalities. I’m not even asking for people to learn more socialist principles which I wouldn’t mind; we’d be in much better shape if people just understood basic capitalist economic principles.
No, they absolutely know those things. Capitalism without regulation is not a risk to them. Collapse of infrastructure and the frustration of the legitimate processes of government are 100% the plan. While some of them play idiots on TV, they know exactly what they are doing. They are just bad at it. They aren’t really attracting the best and the brightest to their cause.
The theory, a mainstay of fringe Donald Trump supporters during the 2016 presidential campaign
WaPo you insufferable both-sidesers, it wasn’t “Fringe” - they were elected to congress for fucks sake. Just because Trump was too illiterate to follow tHe BrEaDcRuMbS and got in late to the Qparty . . .
And you were advertising on Xitter up until today? Wow.
Quickest way to lose support in North America is by disrupting roads. You could literally be protesting for someone’s right to exist, but if you block that same person you’re fighting for, they’ll hate you.
