@Vivaldi @jon @ruario
Is it really a good idea to let the user control the browser's memory usage?
I doubt it. 🤔
What do you think?

It is a good idea to use the defaults in this case, I agree with that. On the other hand I always believe in choice, so I will not fault them from adding that.

The browser is the most important tool for most people, so for me the idea that people want to control it more is reasonable and in tune with our thinking at Vivaldi.

I agree with you. Even in the good old days of Opera, users were given a lot of control over their browser and Vivaldi follows this philosophy consistently.
That's what users love about Vivaldi.

Thank you for your opinion. :tony_happy:

More grim . Microsoft not happy with a small pop up when you go to download chrome...

They now inject their own iframe at the top of the download page! ( https://edge.microsoft.com/intercept/v1/view?locale=en-GB%2Cen%2Cen-US&theme=light&scbtn=true&expfeats= )

Surely this is begging for regulation?

Have you ever tried the web browser, Firefox, and thought something wasn't right about it?

If you have, I suggest you give Firefox Nightly a try.

It loads pages faster, starts up quicker, and uses fewer resources.

I have long stopped asking why that is and have just come to accept it. It's been this way for over 10yrs now.

10+ years now, I have compared Firefox Nightly against Internet Explorer, both Microsoft Edge browsers, Google Chrome, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi browser, and even against regular Firefox.

Firefox Nightly overall always proved more dependable, faster, and didn't bottle down my system even when I tested it on old hardware

For my daily driver, I loading it up with extensions (about 15) and it still offered a stable, smooth, and responsive experience

If you haven't tried Firefox Nightly, you should
