It's strange, playing offline in #EldenRing / #DarkSouls feel much more lonely, even though I'm 99% alone anyhow.
Of course, it's due to the absence of messages and bloodstains.
Those make the games a lot more light hearted, and make me feel safer. Without them, the atmosphere is more opressive and scarier.
Interestingly, I only feel that way because I've been conditioned to expect the messages everywhere, whereas other games don't have them in the first place, so there's nothing to miss.
Made it to Crumbling Farum Azula and past the Godskin duo but I am just so tired of STILL not knowing where to go next. Or what is even happening ever.
I think the plot is none of my business? Like the game is like, hush now you just smash stuff with that rusty anchor and occasionally we'll let you open a door. Why? Don't worry about that.
Don't forget to stream Good Omens (Seasons 1 and 2), give them good ratings, keep sharing it across social media and support the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes to help make Season 3 happen! The writers and actors deserve a livable income and reasonable work hours/conditions, as well as the opportunity to make the high-quality art they want to share with the world 💚
To celebrate 500+ Kabbidges, here's the cover of "Song of Lament" from Elden Ring I promised. We are now halfway to my face reveal at 1,000 Kabbidges, thank you so much for all your support over the years! 🥬🦇💚
I bought #EldenRing on release but never really got into it. I tried, but after 12 hours, and most of Limgrave, I moved on.
One of my favourite let’s play channels #RKG (formerly #IGN’s Prepare to Try) just started their Elden Ring series and I jumped back in. I finally beat Margit.
I don’t know if I’ll stick with it, and it’s also a real time sink, so we’ll see.
@darth@rudi wow thanks! I actually STILL have stuttering issues with Elden Ring on Windows. I haven't tried yet with patch 1.10 #EldenRing . Thanks for the link!
@Binder very happy to hear it's more approachable. I bought it on release because the devs' history is so singularly great and I was so glad it was finally getting a bit of work on aspects I thought looked a little intimidating.
I'm cool with #Paradox levels of systemic complexity (though my #Palatinate playthroughs of #Victoria2 are always disastrous), but DF definitely gave me pause.
Probably just another 300 hours left to beat #EldenRing and I'll be ready to install it....😬
Just wanted to see if any of my mutuals or anyone on here is into #FinalFantasy#DarkSouls#EldenRing#cosplay#videogames#comics and/or #manga ! Because I am and I struggle to make friends about those things. 🔥✨🐢 Hi! I will not spam these tags with unrelated posts. Sorry for this one!
Another way that #Athens reminded me of #EldenRing are these stelae set up at historical sites, bearing maps of the area.
This makes me rethink what's going on with Elden Ring map stones! I had vaguely thought that the stones had map fragments just kinda… lying on the ground, and your dude picked them up and scotch-taped them into place?
But now I think they're supposed to be stones with maps permanently inscribed on em, and your character maybe does a rubbing, or just has a real good memory!
