Thinking about giving this to my 14yo genius niece who's a die hard #StarWars fan. I tried getting her father to come with us to the #GalacticStarcruiser & even room with us to allow them to save money but he said she had summer "math class".
I was furious at him for her cuz I knew she would have died to go but I didn't mention it to her. After the trip we talked how we went & what it was like. She got very quiet.
She doesn't own a light saber so I think she might like my Halcyon trainer.

We went to DLR Batuu West/ #GalaxysEdge in May 2021 & "Virtual Queued" RotR repeatedly back then cuz the crowds were light.
We RevengeTravelled in Oct 2022 hardcore & went to, among other places, WDW Batuu East RotR & the #StarWars#GalacticStarcruiser, then DLR Batuu West in Dec 2022 as well.

I have been a #StarWars fan since June ‘77, and I spent my life trying to join that Galaxy. When I stepped on to the Halcyon Sunday, I knew I arrived. There has never been an experience like this, and I was simply not prepared.
#Disney needs to do whatever possible to keep this alive. It is absolute magic.
@DevinPike the #starwars#galacticstarcruiser was truly an impactful experience for my wife and me. i hate that it's expensive enough to be cost-prohibitive to most fans, because it really is something everyone should experience. i would love to see it persist, if nothing else just to know that more people will get to experience it, but i understand why disney is having trouble keeping it afloat. it's unfortunate.

Now I'm going to try to be constructive here but it's no doubt going to be a bit critical so if you don't want to hear my thoughts about what Disney did wrong with the #StarWars#GalacticStarcruiser, you may want to tune out here.
The Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser was targeting affluent individuals who wouldn't didn't bat an eye at at $5000 fantasy. How you find those people is by targeting the right demographics.
And initially Disney did it right because it was easy for them: Golden Oaks. Club 33. Folks was a ton of disposable income. Smart. But then, they targeted Disney Vacation Club & Disney Visa. Ridiculous targets. Both of these groups are trying to save a buck, not spend one. #StarWars#GalacticStarcruiser
So who should they have targetted? How about PREVIOUS GUESTS to start?
I never got a single email or phone call asking me to come back. I got a general email promoting the Star Wars Starcruiser... with a discount incentive for other hotels before or after our cruise.
The incentives they were giving were all monetary. See previous statement about their target market being affluent people who wouldn't bat an eye at $5000/trip.
These folks don't come back for discounts: They come back for "exclusives" or things money can't buy.
I envisioned starting with giving each returning guest a special bronze VIP Halcyon guest pin for a 2nd cruise. Then a silver for a 3rd cruise, etc. #StarWars#GalacticStarcruiser
And God help me, more than 80% of the people I know had no idea what the Starcruiser even was. I had to show them pictures, share the website with them, etc. and they were all surprised at how elaborate & detailed it was. "Our family would love that... we should check it out this summer" is what I heard over and over again.
I've gotten 3 families to go since & they all texted me about the announcement, saying how glad they went before it closed. #StarWars#GalacticStarcruiser
BTW: Who loves Star Wars? Nerds. Where's there a lot of rich nerds? Microsoft. Google. Amazon. Apple. Intel. Qualcomm. Facebook. Activision. Electronic Arts. Broadcom. SpaceX.
