Things are getting serious over here! I may slip from time to time, but I started a content calendar to plan out my song releases and some personalized music content. Gonna start coming out of my shell a little more with works-in-progress, performance clips, and demos.
I'm kicking off my Hurricane Blonde blog the only way I know how: with a 1400-word origin story. Find out how this whole musician thing started, and why I'm recording my next release on tape!
Fediverse friends, my debut EP is available today on ALL the streaming platforms under the sun! Give it a spin on your service of choice and sing along with me. And if you enjoy it, please share the music!
This is my personal favorite song on the EP. I actually cried after doing the vocal take you're hearing (the "make it through" scream in the mix wasn't planned.)
These songs deal with love, longing, and loss -- and this is definitely the one about loss.
My debut EP is FINALLY ready for your ears! It's an emotional, melodic journey through love, loss, and personal demons, but wrapped in a catchy, cathartic rock & roll package.
I think you're gonna love it!
It's available at #Bandcamp 10 days ahead of streaming platforms, and each $4 purchase also bundles in the original demos of each song. Turn it up, sing along, and rock out!
Everyone who's boosting any of my #HurricaneBlondeMusic posts, or following me on Bandcamp, or adding my songs to their streaming libraries: YOU MATTER.
For me this feels a bit like open source. While I'm the sole creator of the music, anyone who does a shred of advocacy, liking, sharing, boosting, buying, streaming -- they're all contributors in my book.
Contributors helping me keep the dream alive. Thank you 💛
I could spent an infinite amount of time polishing these songs (after all, songs are never finished, only abandoned) but they represent a part of my past. I started 2 of these in 2017.
Now it's time to send these off into the world & move forward to what's next. But I have to say I'm thrilled about this collection of songs, and I hope you'll enjoy once it gets released.
Next step: a logo and spinning up the marketing engine.
I worked on my music for nearly 12 hours yesterday, and it was AWESOME.
Wrote a lyric for a new song called "Fool Me Once" and recorded a rough vocal demo for it, fleshed out some drum parts, played live bass to replace the MIDI parts in a couple other songs, and finalized the mixes for "Story of the Century" and "Forward". They are DONE!
Of course today I'm exhausted. Feel like I have a hangover, but I wouldn't have spent my day any other way. It was perfect!
