The #Czech Republic's President #Pavel says in an German #ARD interview that #Ukraine will be getting 180,000 artillery shells in June.
"I, along with our Prime Minister Petr #Fiala, assume that the first 180,000 pieces of ammunition will be delivered in June, and there are already contracts for a further five to six-digit number of grenades."
The #Czech Republic is trying to deliver ammunition to #Ukraine “as fast as possible,” said Czech President Petr #Pavel.
“Production of the required number of shells takes time. This requires an increase in our production capacity. But Ukraine needs shells now. We can’t wait for European companies, so we try to find ammunition wherever we can. Put it to Ukraine as quickly as possible. But in parallel, we increase our own capacities,”
President Petr #Pavel announced that it was possible to collect the necessary amount as part of the #Czech plan to purchase 800,000 artillery shells for #Ukraine. But this is contradicted by national security adviser Tomáš #Pojar, who coordinates this initiative. "He was probably talking about the first delivery, we haven't covered the entire initiative yet"
"So far we have managed to raise enough money to purchase the first shipment of 300000 artillery shells"
The supply of weapons necessary for the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is currently being delayed, says President of #Czechia Petr #Pavel.
He also added that for understandable reasons, Ukrainian soldiers themselves feel not only tired but increasingly disappointed with Western support. They feel abandoned in this regard.
