This is one of my absolute favorite #YiZhan#fanfic s: "The scent of happiness" (49k) by vesna (mrsronweasley). It's a famous Wang Yibo/ non-famous Xiao Zhan AU, she actually wrote Xiao Zhan as a baker before he said in an interview that that's his dream job if he left c-ent 🤩
The fic is very soft and hot and just perfect. Wyb falls for this baker with the brilliant smile who doesn't know wyb is an idol.
And because I forgot to rec something yesterday, another @yizhan#fanfic favorite: The Olympian x actor AU series by Deinde (3 parts, 75k total) starting with "golden hour".
Actor/singer Xiao Zhan is paired with cocky Olympian snowboarder Wang Yibo as part of an Olympics promotion program. There's instant attraction & banter, XZ learning to snowboard from a very physical, charismatic, indomitable Yibo, a bit of conflict over media & image.

The fic manages an incredible balance between tranquility in nature and banter & #YiZhan rainbow farting à la cql bts, between a tired but gentle & humble xz and an energetic wyb in full wooing / caring mode (making sure xz eats) 😍 It's perfect.
The most recent episode of the #Fansplaining#podcast is a very interesting and nuanced discussion about #rpf#fanfic. E.g. about fans' reaction to egregious behaviour of a person they have headcanons or write rpf about; about possessive fans, policing within a fandom, showrunners breaking the 4. wall. I'm not very well-versed in #fandom, only became fannish after watching #TheUntamed , but it was interesting to think about @yizhan fandom (that I'm in) in these terms.
