I think one of the creative blocks that I face daily (my entire life) is that I THINK TO MUCH.
Not "I think well" too much. I just think too much. I imagine the thing I want to create, and that imagining leads me down multiple potential paths, which gets me into analysis paralysis and I can't decide which way to go. So that leads me into a spiral of self-doubt, which leads me to self-loathing, which leads me to "eh, what's the point?" and I don't do anything.
The worst password idea I ever had was to actually write a script to generate 256 random characters, including special characters, to use for my WiFi password. I didn't realize that in the near future, I would have devices that needed WiFi but couldn't accept a cut and paste of the password because they had no USB ports or GUI that would allow it.
Manually entering WiFi passwords on "Smart TVs" and other devices sucks by the way.
Is there a name for the entire class of nonsensical debates like "is a thumb a finger?" or "is [x] a sandwich?", and if so what do we call those? (besides pointless and annoying) #RandomThoughts
It seems contradictory to me that at many schools, you can get a bachelor of arts or a bachelor of science in the same field. Which is it? Is the field an art or science? #RandomThoughts#Linguistics#Academia
Idea: A service that supplies people to sit with rich people in their home theaters and hog their arm rests, talk during the movie, and place and receive phone calls on their mobile devices during the movie. #RandomThoughts
Our thumbs moving across screens. Day in. Day out. Our energy devoted to serving the machines and their overlords. Reality itself being distorted by virtual, augmented and generated alternatives.
The overlords don't even have to hide their ambitions anymore. Whatever they speak is gospel.
The Matrix was not a warning of a future to come where we are hooked up to machines, emptied of our energy to serve the desired immortality of our own oppressors.
I kind of miss sometimes how in the old place, random celebrities would sometimes pop up in my mentions (even some of the ones I didn't know were celebrities and had to look up) 🤪 #RandomThoughts
From 2010 to 2017, there was a thing called #AseanCitizen that we Aseans started as a grassroots movement. We were all bloggers from across, well, #ASEAN or South-East Asia.
Some of us joined together to produce one of the best multi-authored regional blogs. We talked about our cultures, write about what makes the region awesome. As well as, try to address the oftentimes silly and sometimes heated debates.
It's all gone now. Forgotten. The blogs dead or offline. We all grew up, got busy with our personal lives, and moved on separately. And the important reason? We lost interest in it as we started to see ASEAN was, is, and will never be for the grassroots.
That was the end of what was once a vibrant grassroot ASEAN Citizens effort. We did it all voluntarily. Without a single recognition from the top-down organisation that is ASEAN.
But today? ASEAN is still a top-down organisation. They kept trying to get the grassroots involved, but they are always failing. Why? Because it is a top-down organisation, as simple as that. They will never understand until they shift their mindset and approach to bottom-up.
(P.S I want to restart this grassroots movement, but I just no longer have the spark. Give me a very good reason why I should give it another chance. Or, at least, guide the new generation.)
