Using the freedom-hating platform #Goodreads, I have learned that I have read more #books 📚 in the first five days of 2024 than I did during all of 2023. Admittedly, that's only two (yes, 2) books so far this year, but it's a good start to my #ReadingChallenge target of twelve.
The problem is that I have so many books on my reading list, it's difficult to know what to read next. And if any of my favoured authors releases a new book in a series I'm following, everything else gets dropped.
As far as I'm aware, I've never read A Wizard of Earthsea before now. And for 2024, it will be the first fiction book I've finished.
My goal is to read at least one book borrowed from the local library every three weeks (their max lending period). I'd started another book, expecting this one to take until the end of the month to be available (there's a waiting list) but here it is. So since there are people waiting behind me it gets priority.
After getting halfway through the 10-book "Reads the World" 2024 challenge at @thestorygraph today with the brutal & emotionally draining "Out of Sri Lanka", getting to halfway through their 6-book 2024 onboarding challenge with Tina Fey's "Bossypants" is the perfect palate cleanser #AmReading#ebooks@bookstodon#ReadingChallenge
So, anyone else notice problems with #Goodreads counting your books wrong for the reading challenge? I just noticed because I mainly use #Bookwyrm these days, but I still add books as read in Goodreads.
Turns out, there are a couple of books I read this year that don't turn up in the Goodreads reading challenge overview, but properly show as read if I search for them. Bookwyrm is counting everything correctly in its reading challenge. Not that I care much, but this is the first year I've seen this happen because of my switch to Bookwyrm.
@romancelandia It's time to sign up for the 2024 Diversity Reading Challenge!! This is one of my faves that I host that doesn't get as much visibility, so I thought I would share specifically with this group since I'm on Mastodon now!
#Lecture#Livres#ReadingChallenge#Storygraph

I finished 천사가 모터사이클을 타고 내려오다 by Kwak Jaesik. It’s from the collection (사설탐정사의 밤) and takes place during the elections of January 1949. Candidates might try to interfere with their rivals’ campaign, and that’s when our private detective comes into play!
#FountainPen
I used my TWSBI for my notes today, one of my first fountain pens, but I don’t use it very often lately. It’s inked with Dominant Industry Autumn Forest, a darkish olive green with pink shimmer.
It's #BookLoversDay and I want to share the list of awesome #nonfiction books I read for this year's Polymath Training Challenge.
Run on a Hungarian book site, this challenge announces 12 nonfiction topics every year - 11 are the same, the 12th is randomly selected for each participant. You get to pick the books you want to read.
I found some awesome books for this year and finished early, so I'm sharing now 😊 📚
@superbij woowie.
