“It would be a lot nicer if there wasn’t as much poo in the water. It’s not to take away from Cambridge, as we may not have beaten them even if we were all on top form.”
Thames Water CEO Chris Weston is in line for a £2.3m pay package.
It's December so welcome to the 2023 #dragonfly#AdventCalendar featuring a different species each day for 24 days. We start with a Southern Migrant Hawker. A fairly recent arrival in the UK; this one was at #CanveyIsland#Essex in July. They like ditches with very little water, even if they dry out in summer. They're huge compared to most other UK species. #wildlife#insects#wildlifephotography
The River Thames near Hampton Court earlier on this bright autumn day. I walked with two friends from Kingston. The footpath is described online. I attach it as Alt Text. The description didn’t prepare us for the searing blue of the sky and the excitement of the reflections on the water. Joy. Happiness. They arrived by ambush round a corner.
‘And Summer’s Lease Hath All Too Short A Date’ etc etc. August is nearly over so here are my #TopNine photos from this month on the Thames Foreshore. Starting with my home patch in SW London the river rolls eternally on to the great & historic City of London itself, finally wending its way east to Limehouse highlighting the steel/glass towers of Canary Wharf and beyond #Mudlark#RiverThames#LoveLondon
