Exhibit 921 of what it's like to work with #SmallBiz. I asked some people for their logos converted into one color images for screen printing purposes. I also offered to do the conversion for anyone who couldn’t do it themselves.
I just got a logo back that looked like someone printed it out and then meticulously colored it in using a black fine point felt tip pen… an impressive effort to be sure.
The absurd and difficult parts of working with small businesses is also what I love about it. You'll never be bored and if you thought you've seen it all, just wait a minute.
This is what it's like working with small businesses. I'm trying to help someone with their Wix account. I ask for their login info.
Of course they could assign a sub-account to me, but they don't know how that works so we do it the gangsta way.
A few minutes later, I get a stray 2FA access code texted to my phone. Ummm... wut?
OK, so for some unbeknownst reason, they made MY PHONE the recovery phone number and so now everytime they need to login, they now need to ask me to check my phone.
But wait, so I finally get what I need to login, but for whatever reason, the 2FA for me gets sent to their email (instead of my phone) and I have no idea how we got here.
Got that? We now have this ludicrous situation where anytime they need to login, they have to contact me and it's vice versa when I need to login.
Fortunately, I got in and create a separate account for myself so I can avoid this mess, but my phone is still their recovery number that's going to get 2FA codes.
I don't know why I'm amusing myself this way today, but I just remembered one of my favorite small business typos ever. There used to be a Japanese restaurant near me that had a massively typo ridden menu.
The best item on the menu?
Crap Rolls.
Even better? It wasn't really a typo. English was not their first language. I really don't think they understood that CRAP was not the same as CRAB because underneath the menu item for Crap Rolls was the description:
"Imitation crap, avocado, fish eggs..."
Everywhere on the menu where crab was an ingredient, the word crap was used instead.
Despite the dodgy sounding menu item name, I can attest that their crap rolls were definitely not total crap.
I've reached 100 sales on Etsy! Thank you to all my customers who helped me reach this milestone. By the way, the complete sales I've made with my website and Fan Expo Canada are actually way above that. Still, that doesn't mean we should boost the numbers! Can we reach another milestone before the end of the year? Fingers crossed!

This year's label is a pic from one of our fave hikes, looking over at the sacred mountain of Taal-ḵú-náx̱k'w-shaa (Devil's Thumb) and the Alaska Coast Range from Kupreanof Island. According to language scholar X'unei Lance Twitchell, Taal-ḵú-náx̱k'w-shaa refers to the mountain in the fjord that did not flood.
Don't usually do the hard sell here but bizarrely Etsy is covering a £5 off of orders over £25+ for this weekend only (ends Sunday eve) so head over to my shop - https://blockforest.etsy.com - if you want a little discount.
Offer is open to buyers in UK, USA and Canada only (etsy's rules - not mine).
I don't usually do sales so this as good as it gets!
“Stay and fight” is so ludicrous. Fight for what? Fight with what? Users have no leverage against Musk. None. It’s just more insipid rationalization by people who just can’t bear to think about having to lose any part of their follower counts. It’s actually a chance to expand them and make them more meaningful.
@shoq So so tired hearing this argument. I’ve tried to convince some #smallbiz follows to come over here (or just decamp to somewhere) but many, even with declining engagement, say versions of “It doesn’t concern me / biz accounts,” “All my followers are here,” “It’s too hard to rebuild somewhere else.” 😑 #smallbusiness#TwitterMigration
Before you post or boost anything out here about how “everyone” needs to leave the BirbX site immediately or be branded a fascist collaborator, I’m going to ask that you boost the signal for the creators, small businesses, artists and the rest of us folks who have spent years growing platforms out there. There is no substitute for reach or building to replace it. Many small creators are already hurting, us included. #smallbiz
Braved the Bukit Jelutong peak hour traffic to get this and it was worth it. So sedap. This is the mini sampler of 12, and the mini size is decent and not at all small. Great for sharing. Our favs would have to be the matcha white choc, the red velvet, the cream cheese ones (i think cant remember the name) and the biscoff. Almost all la basically lol #Malaysia#SmallBiz#TootsMY

My favourite part of creating is to work on new ideas... With this doll, I will use bamboo hair for the first time, I know it will be a bit tricky but I am determined!
I also want to use more of my drawings in my textile work so I printed this head and will try to add it to the dress.... Wish me luck 😅🙃
