> I have made amazing progress in restarting my life during my 1st year of Canadian Freedom after serving 30 months at SeaTac and then 2 months at ICE, and I am…
No audio but may be the HDMI adapter I am using... in any case it does power on and I can get into BASIC and the Parsec cart works. I am legit giggling with happiness.
Say hello to GROTTY-1, the world's dirtiest #TI99/4A. I got it as an untested throw-in with a Cor-comp micro expansion system. I stupidly didn't take photos of the initial cleanup, but the case itself contained, besides hairballs and general grunge, a dead wasp and a brass thumbtack. Miraculously, the thing worked when I plugged it in.
📦⌨️ Among the newly received donations, we spotted a nice set for the Texas Instruments TI-99/4A from 1981 😍. It's the first 16-bit home computer, using TI's proprietary TMS9900 CPU paired with 16 KB of RAM.
in which I explore Yet Another Game Named Haunted House, this time for the much-maligned TI-99, and manage the sleuth a little more out about the mysterious American Software Design and Distribution Co.
Yay my first computer (a TI 99/4A) still works! First time firing it up in maybe 10-15 years. Had to make a crappy cable and attach it to an analog to HDMI converter. Glad it was that simple - my RF modulator boxes are both dead I'm pretty sure.
