If you're a user then I'd really recommend that you go try a multi-purpose (password-)prompt tool for Wayland. Which also has a TUI fallback mode for when no wayland connection can be established, like when invoked while using a TTY. @lhp has done a fantastic job creating this really useful piece of software. With the latest update you can even set the transparency and the individual border colours for buttons and button text.

Oh I see the devs have added rules for setting fullscreen, dimensions and position.
Also there is a slight breaking change if you use the latest commits from git where in rules tag has been renamed to tags.

Since my mid-2013 #MacBookAir reached its #EOL (long time ago), and the #homebrew decides not to support #MacOS 11 anymore. 😤

I’ve decided to bring my #MBA back to life and install #Fedora #Sway on it. And it is indeed great so far. 😍

As you can see I’m still configuring and customizing it.
Let’s see how it goes 🙄

#MacOS11 #GNULinux #linux #wayland #foot #tilingwm #tilingwindowmanager #swaywm #wm #i3 #i3wm #brew #bigsur #endoflife #waybar #vim #tmux #mac #fedorasway

It's taken it's time to sink in but the more I use tiling window managers the more I realise that the bar should just be for status information and that you really don't need clickable options on it.
What does everyone else think ? Am I wrong ?

I'm sorry as I really am loving but I do find myself looking back at the git repo all the time in the hope that a new release has dropped with improved support. Because atm and it's my fault totally for loving bleeding edge but building with Wayland support right now just doesn't happen due to ongoing dev / changes for the next release.
Am I the only person that feels like this ?

Definitely a must read thanks to @lhp if you're tinkering with and wondering if it could become your next daily. There's a interesting section which explains what modes are and I'd say that locked mode allowing multimedia keys to still work when the lock state is entered is pretty useful.
