#CambridgeMA area people, the city is redesigning the Linear Park path(Minuteman path) and is holding a public meeting tonight. The project will widen the path, install benches and play equipment, as well as plant lots of new trees. Check out the presentation and let the city hear your support and ideas!
Democracy Center fridge update: we've gotten some wonderful donations that are going to enable us to put more urgently-needed food, hygiene, and wound care products in the pantry. A huge ❤️THANK YOU❤️ to those who have given funds. We'll share more photos of the distros as we start getting them going.
If you want to help us do this work, or other anti-fascist work, please don't hesitate to reach out. You don't have to be a superhero-- all that's required is time and enthusiasm.
We'd also like to encourage folks to volunteer and contribute to the fridge organizers directly as well. They are always in need of helpers!
On today's "What's That About?", the team explains how a city of 118,000 people like Cambridge became such a news desert (thanks vulture capitalists at Gannett!), but Desmond says there's hope on the horizon as local non-profit Cambridge Day looks to provide an oasis of local reporting. #cambridgema#cctvcambridge#mapolihttps://vimeo.com/831516136
Just a little over TWO WEEKS left to submit your proposal!
We've gotten about a dozen submissions for solo talks, but would love to see some proposals for panels, lightning talks, or facilitated discussions!
Got an idea? You should submit a proposal!
Know someone who's doing some awesome work in infosec, especially supporting activism or advocacy? Talk them into submitting a proposal!
I just realized that I've been using a lot of exclamation points and it makes me sound kind of manic, but I'm just gonna go with it! Show us what you got!

Hey #CambridgeMA residents! Especially if you live near Harvard.
Need something to do? Got extra cash?
Adopt a community fridge. The one in Harvard Square at the Democracy Center is always understocked and could use some extra donations.
Today one of our members dropped off some pantry items and some small wound care packs, but those will probably last less than a week.
If you want to help out go fill the fridge directly, contribute to our cashapp, or drop us a line at our email address in our bio. We'd love to have your help!
A million birds travelled over Middlesex Country, MA last night on their great migration back north. Really neat project that uses models and radar to see when migrating birds are going over your area each night. We're in peak migration time for birds. Click the link below and click Migration Dashboard and put in your country name for more info See https://dashboard.birdcast.info/region/US-MA-017#birds#migration#cambridgema
The sunlight in #cambridgema today seems like its going through high level smoke (feeling like I'm back in California right now) the smoke map shows something high up coming from western Canada but not sure if that's the cause of this yellow hazy light.
