Another major batch of from one of units.

This time is about 700g and going to freeze them while waiting for the next batch to grow (I have one more with parsley, one with , , , and that are not producing as much. Each unit has 15 grow holes. One is almost empty. I am missing and I'm missing Iranian Shanbalileh (شَنبَلیله یا به فارسی دری شینبل (نام علمی: Trigonella foenum-graecum) ) to have all vegetables I need except to spinach that is not worth growing in small space that I have to be self sufficient in having all necessary vegetables for cooking different Iranian dishes.

This single Ikea unit has givene 5 batch of parsley since I started it and ther are no sign of decline as ww are getting closer to summer.

It has already paid off the initial cost I paid for it and from now on, it's all profit. Next it trying to setup the Mimi tower unit to grow them with solar powered water pumps and sunshine (no artificial LEDs for this trial.

Just need to buy some fertilizer because running low.

I'm taking it to the people.

Cilantro?

@mike Its not so much that it tastes good itself, but it enhances the flavour of foods, in a similar way to chilli.

(Australians call it Coriander).

Celery is not for human consumption.

kkarhan,

@noondlyt you mean leaves!

Otherwise they'd not taste like !

What does cilantro / coriander taste like to you? :blobfox3c: it's genetic.

Similarly, arugula / rocket is bitter for me.

After the rousing success of -in-a-bag, I decided to try carrots-in-a-bag. It's only been a couple hours, but it's already bubbling away. (it did get a jump start from a little sauerkraut juice)

Heat-sealed bag of carrot sticks in brine with a sprig of parsley. If you look really close, near the top, you can see many tiny bubbles streaming up.

kkarhan,

@earthtoneone that's giod.

Sadly ruined it.

Having a garden of our own is truly a blessing that goes beyond measure.

It brings us closer to the beauty of nature and allows us to cultivate a connection with the earth. In our own little patch of land, we can witness the miracles of growth and savor the fruits of our labor.

From the vibrant greens of fresh and crispness of homegrown onions to the fragrant herbs like and , having a garden provides us with an abundance of organic treasures.

Went to make my Vegemite toast. Seems missus has bought some Aldi-brand (I think) butter and not Lurpak. So, y'know, it's been a long ride, but we're done.

Quokka,

@LifeTimeCooking I keep meaning to get some ghee and see how i go with that.
Dairy-wise probably most I'll do is some yoghurt in a biryani or for tikka-ing.
Milk, butter and cream aren't for me. So I'm on dodgy ground when I mock those super-tasters who can't do coriander.
