Good evening, keto, low carb, and carnivore compadres!

Today we ate at a restaurant and I took the opportunity to write a post about it...what I ate isn't that important, but I do share the most helpful tips I use to keep myself from straying way off the track. Below is the Reader's Digest version of those tips; if you want to read more, I'll provide the link below; if not, we'll still be friends!

1 - eat right before you go
2 - decide what you want before you get there
3 - order less than you want
4 - give yourself a LITTLE grace, within your own plan, if you can without doing damage.

The "fleshed out" version with further details is at http://chiachow.net/eating-out-dec-11-2023-texas-roadhouse/ .

This is the first of my posts about restaurant experiences, and how I manage my Eating Out experiences.

Here again after some time at the Punjabi restaurant, not so far from home. It has a chequered history, and has a changed menu from last time. I am having Chole Bathure since long time. I am so pleased. Fingers crossed it is as good as it should be.

The chequered history I refer
to is this:

☕ It opened with an wonderful menu and good food. I was delighted. It had been a while since there was a good Indian place locally. I was determined to eat there often, even tho they had NO working heating or cooling and didn't seem to be able to fix it. Often it was over-the-top hot or incredibly cold.

🍽️ Then I went another time and there was NO MENU only 3 or 4 varieties of Kulcha (leavened flatbread cooked in a tandoor served with chole, pickles and onion). I had Amritsari Kulcha, which was good (a bit like the pic below, from the internet), but it wasn't something I wanted to eat every time I wanted Indian.

👏 Then I noticed online they had changed their menu again - not as good as the first one, but with much more variety than Kulcha. I was keen to see if it was good. And it is, with a dozen or so dishes I want to try. So will be going back.

🤣 Of the 3 other tables occupied in the restaurant, 2 of them ordered Kulcha 🤣
