Hey watch until 9pm!

Not gonna lie ... if there is something somewhat scary about life, tornadoes are it! Time to batten down the hatches!

Chris's port engine stalled while underway yesterday. We couldn't get it to restart. Today he, Justin, and I started troubleshooting. First we removed the primary fuel filter, thinking it may have gotten clogged. Removing the filter wasn't hard, but getting the water bowl off the bottom was. It was so tight we had to pierce the old filter with a screwdriver to get enough leverage to remove it. We replaced the filter and the engine still wouldn't start (1/3).

Using a wrench and holding the screwdriver to remove the filter from the water bowl.

jfk,

We removed the secondary filter and it looked fine. We replaced the carb filter and put fuel in the carb bowl. The engine started but quit again within 5 seconds.

Next up, check the fuel pump. We removed it and quickly found the problem. The lever that drives the pump broke off. The pump must have seized underway, and the arm was immediately broke but the cam. Half the arm was in the block. Luckily, I was able to get it out with a pair of needle nose pliers (2/3)
