Last month I saw a toot making fun of a news article posted when #Prince died, erroneously claiming that he had once covered #NeilYoung's "Cinnamon Girl", clearly not knowing Prince's song of the same name is entirely different. Ever since, I keep thinking about Prince's song - which is absolutely fantastic, and still tragically very timely 20 years later - but I cannot stop my brain from subbing in Young's voice because of that stupid article.
So #Blinken sits in with #Ukrainian band playing "Rockin' in the Free World." Uh, yeah, that's great, but the song title belies the song's true meaning. Sort of like "Born in the USA," isn't a full-throated endorsement of American militarism.
This may not be as bad as #TFG using it in campaigns. #NeilYoung
#CurrentSpins - #NeilYoung & Crazy Horse - Fuckin' Up (2024). Young's latest revision of the past is Fuckin' Up, an interpretation of nine of the ten songs from his and Crazy Horse's 1991 album Ragged Glory. Recorded live at Toronto's Rivoli Club in November 2023, the album finds Neil and company in fine, rambunctious form – gleefully powering through amiably sloppy renditions of the old songs.

#NowPlaying - #NeilYoung will always be known as the first-take/best-take/preferably-under-a-full-moon guy, but the ongoing avalanche of mid-'70s lost albums & box sets & loosie outtakes on his streaming service all point to him actually being a totally ruthless self editor. anyway, "zuma" rocks. @vinylrecords
I missed this. Neil Young's music is returning to #Spotify after a two year boycott. That catalyst seems to be the fact that Joe Rogan's podcast is no longer exclusive to Spotify. "Young has now said he can’t sustain his opposition across each of the streaming platforms, and will therefore return his music to Spotify."
