I’m outside in a T-shirt and shorts in full sun. I’m going to have to go and put some sunscreen on, I can feel the back of my neck starting to burn. I’m not complaining, this spell of lovely weather will be over by Tuesday #Wales#pembrokeshire
You can't really see but there's a swathe of Forget-me-nots (Myosotis sylvatica) on the right. I love them, so blue and perfect, and they form a great temporary ground cover as well, re-seeding happily.
27 Aug: feast of St. Decuman/ Degyman, d. c. 706 came to Somerset from #Pembrokeshire arriving on a raft (or his cloak) with a cow for a companion. Dedications to him are found in #Cymru, #Somerset & #Wexford
We had a lovely afternoon at Picton Castle #pembrokeshire We only managed to explore about 2/3 of the gardens and have Spanish food for lunch before it was time to watch the owl display. They flew so low over us that they almost touched the top of our heads. Then we looked at all the other amazing birds and the small number of mammals and reptiles there. Here are some pics
Here’s my dad on an all-terrain mobility scooter we borrowed from the National Trust to visit the Stackpole Estate in #pembrokeshire We had a good walk, 4.7k. And cake
The Gellidywyll Stone has travelled around a bit. It was allegedly carved in the parish of Maenclochog in 1743, moved to Gellidywyll mansion as a headstone for the squire’s horse in 1786 until being moved to its current resting place in Cenarth church yard in 1896. It’s inscribed ‘CVRCAGN - FILI ANDAGELI’. Meaning Curcagnus, son of Andagelli. #History#StandingStoneSunday#Cenarth#Ceredigion#Cymru#Wales#GellidywyllStone#Maenclochog#Pembrokeshire
"Dog walkers should be extra vigilant around #Pembrokeshire#Wales coastline this weekend after a dog was killed after eating a toxic #palmoil berg washed up on Newgale beach"
Just been on a leisurely hour’s circular (well, more of a very wiggly loop) walk through woodlands and up into a village and back into woodlands at the #NationalTrust estate at Colby, #pembrokeshire. Beautiful blue skies and sunshine, lots of bluebells in the woods and stunning azaleas in the cultivated parts
