It is a foundational principle of the #Christofascist right that they should be allowed to use their #Constitutional rights to take away the Constitutional rights of people they don't like. Most often, they attempt to justify the #oppression and #discrimination of people they don't like by citing their "#religious rights." In their mind, their rights as "#Christians" supercede the #civilrights of the people they're oppressing.
#Christians just can't figure out why people are leaving the #faith is droves. They just can't understand why people don't want to be part of their #hate#cult. They're quick to explain to the #LGBTQ community how #Jesus loves them... as they stomp on them, assault them with vile hate #rhetoric, #vandalize their homes and businesses, and plant #bombs at their events. Can't you just feel the #love? I mean, who among us wouldn't want to be a part of that?!
If #Trump and his #neofascist allies get their way, the human and #civilrights of black and brown people, gays and lesbians and transgender people, women, Muslims, Jews, atheists, Democrats, liberals, progressives, the poor, the disabled, migrants and refugees, and others identified as "enemies" of the Trump regime and larger neofascist project will be taken away.
I eagerly look forward to the day when #churches are anachronistic relics of a less informed, less moral world. It probably won't happen in my lifetime, but the trend is undeniable, and I'd say unstoppable. Each new generation has less use for #religion than the last, and a point will come when churches are a cringy curiosity, and not a serious part of anyone's life. Full speed ahead!
