The city has violated a court order and its own policies by discarding the personal property of thousands of homeless people, who have lost medications, birth certificates, IDs, treasured family photos and the ashes of loved ones.
I think this NPR story comes close to getting everything right about the dilemmas of involuntary treatment of psychiatric illnesses. I highly recommend it.
It’s one of the most important resolutions on the docket. Without our voting rights fascism is all but a sure thing. Voter suppression is rooted in racism.
At least in part for selfishly professional reasons (i.e., I'm a civil rights lawyer), I'm curious what the lawsuits that come out of these latest protests will look like.
Anyone have any that have been filed? Ideally I'd like the Complaints, if at all possible. (I'll post what I find too.)
National Day of Prayer continues to advance Christian Nationalism

Although supporters may claim NDP welcomes all people to participate, it ostracizes nonreligious people, those who don’t pray and many religious minorities. Both the history of NDP and the rhetoric of those who continue to promote it make clear that NDP is mainly for Christians..."
Pro-Palestine student protesters are being smeared as puppets of shadowy “outside agitators.” The presence of community members and experienced activists in the protests is nothing to be ashamed of: we need outside agitators to build a better world.
