I embrace adverbs. I am not an utilitarian. Florid exuberance is more my style. I channel Victorian and Edwardian extravagance. (But not their morality) I don't mind using a stronger verb, but eschew an adverb never.
Reading people's responses to this I had a minor epiphany. I write First Person Narrative. Everything is dialog. Whether it be between characters or the narrator and their audience. My narrators are introspective and seldom concise. This is something to watch when I am forced to write POV from someone who is brief.

Shiro: Kao use to talk about fate and how she was fated be be with me. She said I was her one hope of escaping from Meiko-kun. I thought it was nonsense until one day I tied my fate to her. So yeah, I believe in soulmates.
Kaori: "I'm a fan of a bunch of things, chiefly Shiro. But that's not what you meant. Let's see, I love vocal trance and tea. I follow "Is the Order a Rabbit?" especially Rize. Just about any CGDCT is up my ally. Kan-chan and I have watched KON! together several times and she is bugging me to do a rewatch of "Do It Yourself."
Kan-chan is into anything neko maid.
Both Shiro and I are into street fashion. But what Shrio is really into is doujinshi, the lewd kind. She is into... No better shut up or she will be pissed at me.

I dreamt I was walking in a park and I found a small box turtle. I picked it up and it fit perfectly in the palm of my hand. I petted it as I walked, then saw some other box turtles (three or four of them) and put it down. The little turtle went to its friends as fast as it could. They seemed to converse, then they all headed straight for me, amazingly fast. I could tell they were obviously angry with me. I was being chased by a pack of angry box turtles.
