Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone could finally become a reality if a recently awarded patent is any indication. This patent hints at a revolutionary self-healing screen.
Nearly three in five Americans wrongly believe the US is in an economic recession, and the majority blame the Biden administration, according to a Harris poll conducted exclusively for the Guardian. The survey found persistent pessimism about the economy as election day draws closer....
How did that impact you? For me as a union electrician that meant members sitting for upwards of 2 years, with over 1500 people unemployed on the books in my local hall.
Right now there’s 800, most since 2008 recession, never going above 300 or so since then. I don’t know what a recession means for anyone else, but for me it’s not having a job and income. But this one is worse, because while the pay is more since 2008, everything costs triple since then.
Dude I can’t even run the website anymore. It lags, won’t click links, can’t even get into my settings. I thought I had malware but it was exclusive to every time I opened a reddit link.
For some reason I’ve just never liked Spider-Man. He comes off as a whiney, ignorant child that never seems to grow up or mature despite everything he goes through. I love a good coming of age story, but he just never seems to become an adult.
You think most of us want it like this? What do you want us to do? Organize? Do you know how much the system has been built against that? Against a voice? Against acting out? Its a grinding slog out there, if you want to make your voice heard you basically need to make a career out of it, or have a lot of money to be able to organize.
Kevin Roberts remembers when he could get a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a drink from Five Guys for $10. But that was years ago. When the Virginia high school teacher recently visited the fast-food chain, the food alone without a beverage cost double that amount....
I was flabbergasted yesterday when I got 2 happy meals for the kids, a mcrispy and a filet of fish, and the teller said $30. My wife and I just stared. Wtf happened. We went there for a quick easy cheap meal while road tripping. Next time we’re packing sandwiches.
It wasn’t even full meals. No drinks no sides for the adults. Just 2 sandwiches. And the kids got small happy meal portions. This is fast food. This is junk food.
You’re teaching your children to take their own lives when times are rough. I’m not besmirching your freedom to “exit” or anyone’s choice but who are you, me, your kids, to make a decision of that final exit based off of criteria that is subjective and impossible to understand. Not even the very wise can see the end, apocalyptic world or not.
Hey guys I am planning to do my own solar and am looking into some kits and prices. I was quoted $22k for a 7.4kw system but I’m thinking of doing a 12.7kw one myself without the bloat of a loan and contractor install....
They’re facing kind of east west, there’s a direction in the picture. The slope of my ceiling isn’t strong. And from what my inspector has said here he also installed his on the north westish side because he gets more energy after the morning fog dissipates. Here’s a picture of the roof. The shadow in it is a tree I’m cutting down tomorrow (100’ pine). That shadow side is also the side with the 10 panels. The lesser of my two roofs.https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/3dc22ecb-1976-4721-9580-bb8bc2be7b44.jpeg
I need to have a 3 foot section for fire department. Then 18 inches required from the top and opposite end. There are no restrictions for the gutter side. I set it up like that to show that I have room for longer panels.
I’m not sure what you’re talking about parallel. They’re all oriented the same way… The snippet to the right is my entire roof oriented to fit the screen, the blown up section is just showing the section of roof I’ll be putting my panels in.
Regardless, I’m going for function over form. The opposing north west wall with 10 panels needs to be pushed to the side like that because there’s shading on the other end of the roof.
I don’t think you understand homelessness. Forcing someone to be homeless isn’t a humiliating act. You might as well give the 84 year old man the electric chair.
I’m sorry for posting this here. There isn’t a solar panel instance, nor did I see anything for electricians. I know there’s been a lot of gripe with certain solar companies (solgen being in litigation, and others) but I didn’t hear much about freedom forever, since they’re new to Seattle area where I’m doing this....
OK I want to look into doing it myself. Where would I start with the resources?
My only reason I wanted to tie to grid is to get in on the NEM that my local energy company offers. A 1 to 1 net metering. I live in Seattle and getting that energy back in the winter is worth it for me
OK that’s amazing. Thank you for this information. Yes with the rebate I’m paying $15k.
That was my concern, if I do it myself would I still get the rebate. I’ll call PSE on Monday and ask if I will get the rebate and if I can also opt into the 1 to 1 net metering.
I’m taking my master exam in 3 weeks lol. How I know so little about photovoltaics is embarrassing. But I can get a diagram and design built easily enough. I’ll call them Monday to discuss what they need.
