Any #cdrama fans watched wuxia ‘Heroes’ (2022)? Thoughts?

Viki is streaming it. Noticed it has my crush Liu Yu Ning AND Joseph Zeng in it. Plus Baron Chen as villain.

Director is same as the beautiful Farewell My Princess.

Based on a novel by Woon Swee Oan, the Hong Kong-based Malaysian Chinese poet and writer who also inspired series & film, The Four. The novel is about the nature of heroes.

Looks good but My Drama only gave it 7.9/10!

Omg - how did I miss Winter Begonia?! #cdrama set in the Republican era about the relationship between a business man and a Peking Opera dan singer as the Japanese occupation begins. But is symbolic of so much more.

Sets, script & music are gorgeous. It is playing on iQiYi Plus and on YouTube. The acting of the MLs is fabulous.

I’m finding the Legend of Shen Li a bit hard to get into despite great acting of the leads.

However, one big plus is that unlike other recent #xianxia #cdrama offerings, the cgi is Star-Wars-level good.

There’s gods racing amidst floating mountains to a rather hilarious phoenix-chicken avatar of titular Shen Li, a pompous lord of War.
