ArmoredThirteen,

I’m trans and living in Seattle so I know my value to them is somewhere between “nothing” and “the cost of a bullet or tazer shot”

ArmoredThirteen,

I’m getting The Surgery ™️ this coming summer, hoping I can stay ahead of the bigots’ increasingly cruel laws. Donate to relevant causes if you can, protest, if a bigot happens to put their face in the way of a brick that’s great too.

I have a bunch of extended family who are all insufferable and get way too personal when asking about my transness. I’m sick of it but I’ll always repeat my lived experiences to them because I know if I don’t they’ll get their understanding of the topics from people who want to see me dead.

ArmoredThirteen,

While I agree, and am in Washington now in part because of stuff like this, we need to do better about keeping these people subdued or it won’t be much better here. The college towns bordering Idaho/Washington are in the middle of a very successful christo-fascist takeover with plans to foothold into Washington. Spokane has been toying with nationalism and white supremacy for ages. There are a lot of very red rural farmland and small towns who are angry at Seattle for having such an influence on them.

I still feel safer here and most areas of Washington than I have living in other places. We need to work hard to keep it that way because fascism doesn’t stop at state lines

ArmoredThirteen,

Alternatively, during mid-morning and late-afternoon lulls, the price could dip below $5.99 by as much as $1

Yeah I totally believe that 🙄

ArmoredThirteen,

Unity employee here, idk anything specific about the departments that handle this I wouldn’t even know what their name is. With that caveat, I will say that all the layoffs last year going into this year, changing CEOs, and the competition between big company beurocracy and the dying breath of small company culture, a lot of departments are behaving erratically. I wouldn’t be surprised if nobody internally has a clear answer why this was banned but others aren’t. Some workers may legit be trying to help but their hands are tied for corporate or maybe even legal reasons, it could be people trying to keep their heads down and close tickets quickly to keep metrics up in the hopes they’re less likely to be fired. I think you all know this already but please don’t be too hard on the workers we’re doing what we can but it’s a corporate mess right now

ArmoredThirteen,

Not all trans care sterilizes people, hormones don’t even necessarily sterilize people, and because this is in the context of trans care for kids I’m going to reiterate the obvious that children never get surgeries done. Minors might in the sense that rarely like 16-17+ person may be able to get some cosmetic stuff done but like we let cis kids do that anyway as long as it fits within their prescribed gender norm. Also we already make non-consensual surgery choices surrounding intersex people when they’re actual literal babies so where’s the “don’t surgery the kids” crowd on that topic?

ArmoredThirteen,

Yeah 100k should be minimum wage here in Seattle honestly. That’s enough to get by comfortably and not have to worry too hard about necessities, though if you want to get really fancy and buy a small one person starter home you’ll need more

ArmoredThirteen,

With all our experience from the last plague this one should be a breeze where everyone quarantines, vaccinates, and masks as needed. Yeah we’ll be fine

ArmoredThirteen,

Yeah don’t forget the pox parties where people try and build natural immunity by making their sick kids cough at each other

Flail Snail with Goblin Rider (lemmy.ml)

Here’s one I painted for a friend, flail snails are one of their favorite DnD monsters. Lot of firsts on this one: Using UHU glue for slime effects, smooth color transition (red/yellow eye stalks), played with some red/blue duo pigment for the shell, and I’d never made a desert base before. I’m pretty happy with the...

ArmoredThirteen,

I feed mine hallucinogens, seems to help… That and exercising aggressively enough to damage my body so I have a distraction

ArmoredThirteen,

You can add map markers with custom descriptions in Morrowind. I use them to leave little “what the fuck am I doing” notes for myself before leaving the game if I don’t know I’ll be back on within a couple days

For real though it can be a hard game to jump back into if you’ve had it on pause for a while. I usually just make a new character at that point see where the new adventure goes. There are so many factions and places to explore no one character can experience the game in full anyway

ArmoredThirteen,

MOO2 is still one of, if not the, best 4x space games and part of that is how clear cut it is. The systems play together well and it isn’t a bloated mess of complicated mechanics for the sake of being complicated. The depth is very emergent and not artificial feeling which gives it an incredible timelessness

ArmoredThirteen,

Also have you ever seen a seahorse try and swim? They’re actually horrible at it

rule (lemmy.cafe)

as much of a PSA as this is a meme lol. don’t seek dietary advice from randos on the internet. everyone is different and the advice you see from @bonerfart on !memes can be dangerous and should be taken with a grain of salt (metaphorically, not a dietary recommendation 😜). instead consider one or both of:...

ArmoredThirteen,

I do fermented hot sauces regularly. I don’t know if it is me specifically but when I was trying to follow recipes they’d mold every time. Once I stopped following directions and started eyeballing everything I got better ferments. As much science as there is to fermenting at the end of the day humans have been throwing random shit in jars and calling it good for generations, and it can be just as much a ‘by the feels’ kind of thing

ArmoredThirteen,

I can’t talk on this personally because I do still really need this job’s insurance and am trying my best to not get fired for 6 more months, but also I’m just a grunt all I’ve got are contradictory rumors.

ArmoredThirteen,

It’s definitely a satire but also yes very dark. The music video really makes it, for anyone who wants to see one of the most unhinged pieces of media out there in its full glory

ArmoredThirteen,

The worst offenders of this are the 2-position chairs. My dorms had them and it’s been over a decade but I remember the absolute fear the first time I sat in one like it was yesterday. And I remember all those late study nights I thought I was on the forward setting and went to lean back only to fall all the way

(Unrelated, but this is my 1000th comment 🎉)

ArmoredThirteen,

All I see is a bunch of unused ad space when looking over the water. How are people going to know to buy Bouncy Bubbly Beverage if their attention is on a sunset or whatever?

ArmoredThirteen,

Or if you’re burnt out: Awake several hours before work and thinking of quitting with no notice

This is just my opinion but i think the food industry should change and that there should be a thing like where customers have to dispose their food waste in a bin and clean their own plate .

Context : when i go to a restaurant or a party or anything i have always felt that there should be a culture to clean our own plate like if i just tried to do that at a party or in a restuarant people would think i am weird and the staff will stop me . Like i always thought that cleaning other peoples plate was kinda degrading...

ArmoredThirteen,

People do “degrading” work all the time and at a much larger scale than this. I think a more important part is to get everyone on board with not degrading people because we’re all just paying each other for things we don’t want to or can’t do anyway. A coder wouldn’t expect a client to clean up old comments in source code because that’s an expected part of the job.

I do think we should also be considerate to each other though and not leave a total mess for someone to clean up. If someone at the table is getting judgy about you cleaning your space they’re probably entitled. If staff asks you to stop though keep in mind they may have a specific way they clean tables and they don’t want you disrupting that flow (this is especially true for stacking dishes or piling things like silverware and napkins on something).
