A Sonoma feature I've really appreciated for when I'm deep in the weeds on a development cycle is the new "Column” layout you can have for Reminders.

Create a few of the classic "Kanban" sections in the list and then leave this window open all the time on my second monitor. I then set this list as my default list and any new tasks I add to the list (on iPhone or Mac) show up along the side ready for sorting. It’s been a great way to more visually plan my work and capture new actions for work.

iPad feature I'd love: deep sleep. I find whenever I go a few days or a week between using an iPad, it's often dead or almost dead. An auto-deep sleep mode after 24 hours of non-use would be awesome, even if it took 5 seconds or so to wake back up

That feeling when you're refactoring something, realize that you didn't have a test for a particular scenario, and you're debating internally on whether to add a test now.

Whenever I choose to not add that test, I often regret it a few weeks/months/years later.

Beyond visionOS, the two highlights of WWDC for me so far are TipKit and CloudKit's new all-in-one sync engine. I love simple new APIs that make apps more pleasant and easier to build, they are fantastic quality multipliers

Reminders in iOS 17 seems to be using some kind of “AI” for Grocery lists #WWDC23

Screen recording of iOS 17 and Reminders, which automatically creates appropriate groups when adding new items in a new Grocery list type. For example I type “rice” and it creates a Rice and Pasta group
