BlackRing,

I had a former colleague called up to Minneapolis during that uprising. That seems to be what their understanding generally was. At one point, they were shot at. Returning fire was very much not on their minds, it was more making sure people were OK (no one was hurt).

Keep order was the idea.

Seemed the person shooting was basically trying to provoke them. It failed.

BlackRing,

You missed Vladimir Putin and Pete Buttigieg!

BlackRing,

On the anti-bird spikes. In the one small place I put them so that a nest wouldn’t be right at my door and mama bird would try to attack my toddler. Seriously, no spikes a few feet away, you’ll be fine. Nope. I know it’s instinct or something to nest in a certain place each time, but come on.

BlackRing,

First thing in the morning I chug a tall glass of water. Somehow that’s actually made a healthy difference.

BlackRing,

My skin doesn’t dry as easily. I no longer feel the need to lotion my hands all the time. Obviously, I drink water during the day but this was the change that started that.

Everything just felt healthier. I woke up more easily for my 6am start at work.

Before I started doing that, it sometimes felt like staying hydrated was constant catching up. Now, it’s more just maintaining.

BlackRing,

I’m more concerned that something that important is only in the summary. Either I don’t understand how bills are written, granted in a state I don’t live in, or the text was changed but the summary not?

BlackRing,

I haven’t eaten enough crayons to be able to fully understand that…

BlackRing,

Wait, you guys have retirement accounts?

BlackRing,

YES!!! I’m not the only one who saw that!!

BlackRing,

Chrysler 200 as a rental after someone smoked my Civic, and I waited to get a new one.

The car was… Jiggly? Like the suspension was unsettling, the brakes needed getting acquainted with lest you rear-end someone, and the steering had too much play. It wasn’t enough play to convince me something was wrong, it was just shit quality.

No power. At all. Getting on the freeway was an adventure in noise and hope. Everything lagged. Fuel economy was garbage too.

Looked stupid. And my Civic si that replaced it, the econobox with a hot engine, had a luxury interior in comparison, which is saying something.

Horrible car to add to a horrible week.

BlackRing,

I have a 2022 OBW. Paint is not its strongest quality, that’s for sure.

BlackRing,

Random, goofy-ass hand at the bottom of the picture…

BlackRing,

GrapheneOS supports recent Pixels. I think right now they are supporting the 5a and later, with legacy and extended support back to the 4.

I use Hostpoint.

They were recommended by Protonmail, and meet my privacy concerns.

BlackRing,

For example, Judit Polgar. Chess grandmaster, and excellent player, her highest rank in unsegregated rankings, like maybe top 100 right? Yeah, by age 12 she was 55th. Peak she was 8th in the world. Not 8th among women, among men and women.

It’s unsettling how she was regarded by some, and this was in the 90s. If I remember right, even Kasparov was less than kind. He might have turned around in his later years.

BlackRing,

Not intentionally.

A question about debating.

If two people agree to a debate, but one of them participates in bad faith, and spends the majority of the time talking over the other, sidestepping virtually every point their counterpart makes, blatantly lies, employs personal insults and frequently airs irrelevant grievances, is it still considered a debate?

BlackRing,

I like this a lot. I would add, in case it’s not obvious, to be ready to assert control once they are on the defensive. Otherwise, it becomes a situation of the pigs beating you with experience fighting in the mud.

BlackRing,

So I am completely out of the loop but intrigued. Beyond reading the about tab, which I have, what sets KaOS apart from another Linux distro running Plasma? Thanks.

BlackRing,

Yeah how dumb are they? WILL get hotter, the word they are looking for is WILL!

BlackRing,

I mean… Maybe they saw ‘C’make’ and then realized.

BlackRing,

Yeah, and I’m fairly certain he bought the right to be called ‘founder’ of Tesla… From the founders.

BlackRing,

“Became clear…”

At what point was it not clear? Form 4473 is really straightforward on this!

BlackRing,

Curb weight base f150 in 2000 was like 3900, 2020 was 4700. Nowhere near 6000lbs as far as I can find. Bigger? Absolutely. Heavier? Not by that much.

BlackRing,

There’s losing sight, and then there’s trying to find it. I remember a short video where a toddler was wandering straight for a road, and someone happened to prevent a tragedy, and mom came running out of the house as the camera was still rolling.

People were calling negligence, what a terrible mom, yadda yadda. No, that mom was running around the house looking for her kid, frantic as time passed. You just don’t think they can open the door that early. Manipulating a door latch or knob is a developmental milestone, plus, what if the door didn’t properly latch? Mom could just as easily looked outside first, but that would be counterintuitive.

Also, “I thought you had him/her?” Is a real thing.
