DerisionConsulting,

If you’re not from Canada and you see this, understand that the National Post is a right-wing paper that Rex had written for.

Rex loved the fossil fuel corporations and used “woke” as an insult. A lot of Canadians are not going to miss him.

DerisionConsulting,

I’m not, because systems without hierarchies do not function at large scale. This is even brought up in the last paragraph, but it includes:

just because something is complicated does not mean there is no way to do it democratically

So, a different system than anarchy is the way forward?

DerisionConsulting,

I’m not from your country, and Trump is a nightmare sub-human that needs to be put away, but it wasn’t just a blow job and lying about it on tv.

-He (age 49) was her(age 21) boss; there is a level of coercion and power imbalance
-He lied under oath, it wasn’t just on tv.

DerisionConsulting,

With 9 players and one DM/GM/ST, you each get 6 minutes to talk/move per hour, assuming everyone gets the exact same amount of time.
So if you play monthly for 4 hours per session, you get 24 minutes.

This probably only works for combat-heavy railroads or mega-dungeons.

Not my cup of tea, but if it’s what you want, I hope you find a table that suits you.

DerisionConsulting,

Exactly, I’ve had my dick grabbed/felt up, and had people try to strip me. It’s assault, not rape.

Both are bad and should be punished, but one is way worse. By calling all sexual assaults rape, it almost feels like it’s eroding the word “rape” to something lesser.

This predator needs to be punished.

DerisionConsulting,

Oh boy.
Another way for people to repost from reddit.

DerisionConsulting,

Fire codes generally require that bedrooms have 2 exits.

5e has an advantage of not requiring doctorate in quantum physics to run (ttrpg.network)

I would usually be sad to see another original RPG go 5e compatible but Neuroshima was infamously poorly designed ruleset, possibly worse than Shadowrun. I probably won’t be running it, but may steal statblocks for my 5e game if I need weird stuff again.

DerisionConsulting, (edited )

Shadowrun is a “crunchy” game, this means it has a lot of rules, and those rules are not simple. If everyone actually learns the rules for their characters, and people don’t do things that are extremely odd, the game can run smoothly.

IIRC from when I ran it, if someone does a normal melee attack (without any magic, hacking, or vehicle shenanigans), it’s like 20 steps, and some people can attack 6+ times per round at level 1.
Compare this to a game where at attack is “roll one die, add one number to it. Is it higher than their armour? Then roll a different die and add one number to it. That’s the damage you deal”.

Edit: Even those of us that love Shadowrun kinda hate Shadowrun. There was also a time when the guy in charge stole a bunch of money from the company, and they didn’t have the fund to pay the people who actually worked on their games.

DerisionConsulting,

I only did SR5, which wasn’t that brutal, but SR4 or SR3 might’ve been more deadly

DerisionConsulting,

Or in some editions:

  • We just copy/pasted that table from the last edition, please ignore the third column.
  • Woops, we forgot to include that table. It’s the 90’s so we don’t really have a good way to getting the information to you.
  • Sorry, that book is only in German.
DerisionConsulting,

There was a thing where a woman said that she would feel more safe in a forest with a random bear than with a random man. Then the people who would comment on this type of thing commented, then the kinds of people who comment on the comments did their thing.

DerisionConsulting,

The internet is large and there is no way that everyone sees all of the same things as each other, especially when most of the “conversation” about the topic happens on a different platform.

DerisionConsulting,

All of the “Boo hoo I was banned” posts lead to someone showing the mod-log, and the (temp)ban being completely justified.

DerisionConsulting,

In - sex things.

On: glasses case, charging cable

DerisionConsulting,

I assume you mean to add MSG to bland food to make it taste better, and not that MSG somehow makes you gain weight?

My friend's boyfriend's therapist said that he is an abuser who is trying to look like the victim. What does this mean?

My friend has been talking with this 24 year old man online since early 2022. She is into stereotypical nerds that are on the chubbier sides. He is a stereotypical nerd both inside and out, and is 350 lbs at 5"11. She thinks he’s the cutest man she’s ever seen. She met him on Reddit, he lives in California while she lives in...

DerisionConsulting,

I think that OP is work-shopping a short story.

This post feels familiar, so I looked at the account history.

Little details change here and there, but the guy is always the exact same size, and they always meet on reddit:

Therapists don’t tell other people things about their clients.
Nut allergies don’t prevent you from flying.

Based on her other posts, at the end of the story she’s going to get away either because of a solar flare giving him a heart attack, or by playing a loud burst through his headphones.

DerisionConsulting,

It isn’t true according to the calorie calculator on their website.

DerisionConsulting,

Not really.

Smallest difference is 150 calories for steak, and the largest difference is double carnitas at 420 calories more calories than the veggie.

If you get a veggie with guac, it is more calories than any single-portion meat burrito without guac. But of course if you get guac on the meat burrito, it will have more calories.

DerisionConsulting,

@JCSpark

Is this account just a bot that just reposts/cross posts the reposts that another bot makes?

DerisionConsulting,

Alberta’s been doing this since 2018. It’s fine under the charter.

DerisionConsulting,

If you mention “the constitution” you are probably referring to another country.

In Canada, this would be a charter issue, but it’s not a charter issue.

A requirement of driving is having BAC below 0.8.
This is a traffic stop, where the point is to confirm that there are not legal issues with the vehicle or its operation. The search of showing your license is already more of a privacy issue than providing a breath sample.

If you’re more curious about it, read section 8 of the charter.

DerisionConsulting,

There is a difference in passively not reporting something that is probably obviously money laundering, and actively funding something harmful.

Don’t get me wrong, drug money isn’t clean, but funding war or investing in oil and gas companies probably does more harm.

DerisionConsulting,

And what as the RoI on the military?

If the point of something isn’t to make money, judging it on how much money it makes is useless.
