@MirrorAyako @allstartrek I've been intrigued by these, seeing these posts crop up off and on.

What do you mean by "you can also stream"? I've tried finding sources for watching H&I but it's not on any local channels or carried by my cable provider at any of the normal tiers (you can't get it ala carte, gotta bundle it with a bunch of other channels I do not care at all about/would rather avoid, like Newsmax)

There's a local, well-known stray that we tried to adopt multiple times since birth but he was always fiercely independent and didn't want any help. We made sure he got shots and always had food, but he wouldn't come inside.

Yesterday, he came inside - not at our invitation, while we were carrying in stuff he just walked in and flopped down on the couch.

He's sick and decided he's finally ready to take up our hospitality.

@trixter I feel bad for him. But not too bad. Everybody in the neighborhood has a name for him, we call him "Notch" for his ears and his usual unpleasant fedora-wearing personality.

We also call him "Pallas Fat", due to the resemblance to one and how he normally gets fed by like six houses... except this year he is not actually fat, his belly is distended but he himself is kinda skinny and weak.

@Tim_Eagon it was (technically) the last episode, if I remember correctly. It was produced for the middle and is treated as that still, but it was the last episode to be aired

@bss @Tim_Eagon Yeah, nobody considered that to be the "last" episode, more like a "lost" episode that was just found very, very quickly.

If I remember the deep lore correctly, the movie was maybe years and years and years before, but was never properly released... until right around the time that the episode was supposed to air.

@bss @Tim_Eagon Like, I think it might still have been showing on one of the movie channels (remember when that was a thing) and they decided to keep it in rotation for another week, which meant that Sci-fi wasn't allowed to air the MST3K episode yet.

Since sci-fi already had them all scheduled out and was building towards the finale, that meant that episode got bumped and just went into orbit until it had a place to land which wasn't until after the true final episode had aired

@kotaotan @trixter That's one of the reasons I really miss compilation albums. I cannot name the number of artists that I discovered, by accident, because I bought a compilation album to get a song by a couple of artists I did know.

I think my two favorite "albums" of all time might be the MTV Buzz Bin albums.

You know, as much as I am vehemently for open computing, I realized that I used to be generally okay with Apple’s walled garden, when it was actually maintained. When you could go on the App Store and find quality software that didn’t require a hidden subscription or IAPs to unlock 99% of its functionality and/or disable the endless ad spam.

What benefit does the walled garden provide us now? It’s full of weeds that have choked out everything else. Practically useless.

@SeasonsChange @cjewel I don't even know why this is a controversy - you clip the baby's harness to your own and pull your own ripcord. It's not like babies weigh that much, and you can sort out the whole "emotionally manipulative talking baby" thing once you're on the ground.

@SrRochardBunson When I used to do webcomics (before my arm quit on me) I would do panels at conventions that was half comedy routine and half informational talk about how NOT to make a webcomic, covering all the pitfalls that first time comickers fall into.

To start the talk, I would give my own credentials, which would start with "I got into webcomics... because nobody is guarding the door."

People act like there's some barrier to entry for art or music. There isn't. Just do it.
