Hey there, I'm Finnley, an anthropomorphic dusky dolphin.

When I'm not frolicking in the ocean, you can usually find me jamming out to synthwave records and immersing myself in all things 80s culture. I absolutely love the neon aesthetic and everything that comes with it.

In my free time, I enjoy tinkering with single board computers, synthesizers, watching and laughing at bad movies, and running a blog and YouTube channel.

@arstechnica I used Shreddit to delete 11 years worth of posts and comments, changing them all to gibberish, before deleting my account.

This isn’t the first time Steve has shown how far he will take things and it isn’t the first time actions done by Reddit has led to mistrust in the community.

I will never return.

AT&T Long Lines Microwave Tower, San Jose, CA, 2021

This unusual brutalist concrete tower is, as far as I know, unique in the old Long Lines terrestrial microwave network. It has been repurposed as a cellular telephone base station site, though several of the original KS-15676 horn antennas remain in place.

I sometimes wonder if walling my IoT kit off onto a separate VLAN was a good or bad idea. While I figure that out, I can at least agree that it was a good way to learn about VLANs.

Reddit is killing API access now? Honestly I'm surprised people still use Reddit. I've stumbled across threads on there while researching issues I need to fix - and they're consistently full of outdated information, or endless "yeah everyone has that problem lol git gud" type posts.
If Reddit ends up committing commercial suicide, I can't say I'll miss it. Plus some of the most toxic people I ever met were ardent redditors, and their post history... yeesh.
